Position Overview

If you are a talented technology leader who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, project-driven environment then you have an opportunity to join the technology group at Teaching Strategies. Working with a team of other technology leaders, product group, software and QA engineers you will design, develop, and implement our industry leading SaaS products used by early childhood educators. The company is looking for a highly motivated individual that will work closely with other technology team leaders and will support the implementation of the company products roadmap. As a leader of the technology team, the individual will interface with directly with key business partners and help drive our product innovation.

You are a creative thinker, you love to understand the ins and outs of your organization, and you strive to find winning resolutions. You have a high level of integrity and sense of urgency to "make things happen" and will work collaboratively across project teams to achieve project goals.

This individual will create and manage the project plan and track project progress including dependencies, constraints, and assumptions. They will manage the risk index, identify resource gaps and delays as needed to ensure the project stays on track. Lastly, the ideal candidate will be able to encourage velocity, quality, and efficiency while adhering to coding, quality assurance, and project execution best practices.

Specific Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Tracks multiple projects performance to ensure successful implementation of short and long term goals
  • Develops and maintains detailed project plans and schedules
  • Maintains the risk index and identifies sources to mitigate risks
  • Monitors project progress and keeps stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle
  • Organizes, leads and monitors technology projects
  • Manages resources utilization, project scope, deadlines, and budget
  • Establishes, tracks and reports on project KPIs
  • Facilitates regular project status meetings with stakeholders and teams
  • Prepares Executive and Board level status reports
  • Participates in the resource capacity planning sessions
  • Leads daily scrum meetings and other agile processes as needed
  • Escalates potential project issues in a timely manner and develops a risk management plan with stakeholders
  • Manages project vendors

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated knowledge and experience with managing software (product) development projects through their entire life cycle (including launch and implementation) using automated management tools
  • 2+ years of experience in an Agile environment, preferably as a Scrum Master
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Ability to organize and lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience managing both onsite and geographically distributed project teams
  • Understanding of complex technical operations environments
  • Strong advisory and presentation skills
  • Advanced time management and analytical skills
  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of change management principles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
