Position overview

Teaching Strategies is the leader in teacher observational formative assessment in early education (Birth to Grade 3).  Based on feedback from our state and district partners, Teaching Strategies is expanding our assessment offerings to include screener and diagnostic tools as well as capturing evidence via digital assessments for K-3.

Teaching Strategies is looking for an experienced Director of Assessment & Analytics to help us define our assessment offerings, lead development activities for new products, and improve our existing assessment products via an iterative based process.


Specific roles and responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to define / refine our approach to assessment within the Birth to Grade 3 continuum
  • Lead the content development effort by combining their assessment expertise with the existing expertise of the Teaching Strategies Content Team
  • Work closely with Product Management, User Experience and Engineering professionals to extend and expand existing products, including functionality and reporting
  • Support Sales and Marketing activities
  • Support Research efforts 


  • 10+ years' experience in K-12 Assessment, including product and content development
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a rapidly growing and fast paced environment
  • High level knowledge of best practices and industry trends in Assessment
  • Creative problem solver who works well in cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
  • Master's Degree in a related field highly desired
  • K-12 Classroom experience highly desired
