 Position overview

As the Manager of Strategy & Data Analytics, you will be the "go-to" person for heavy data analytics and strategic thinking which will support a broad range of strategic decisions and value creation initiatives across the Company.  Your work product will underpin day-to-day executive (primarily CFO and new CEO) decision making, annual budgeting and resource allocation, and the Company's 5-year strategic plan.  You will be relied on to accurately conduct analyses from beginning to end but also to appropriately synthesize the results, pulling out the relevant insights and highlighting key questions that emerge.  You will also have the opportunity to play a lead role in ad hoc projects such as pricing strategy, international expansion planning, quota setting, competitive intelligence gathering, new product launches, customer NPS surveys, M&A, strategic partnerships, etc.  Strong performance in this role will fast-track you for a leadership position at the Company.

 Initial responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the company's existing data infrastructure, including how the data is produced, where it is housed, anomalies and patterns, data flows between systems, etc.
  • Pull, cleanse, and verify the integrity of source data, primarily from salesforce.com and SAGE (accounting system)
  • Present data findings in a clear and concise manner, using tables, graphs and charts (in PowerPoint as needed)
  • Produce weekly update report on sales and pipeline activity to assess key trends and drive revenue visibility
  • Own company-wide monthly KPI reporting, highlighting trends, investigating variances and recommending additional metrics to monitor key business drivers
  • Lead buildout of company BI/data visualization tool in collaboration with Business Operations team
  • Systematize/semi-automate standard reporting where possible to reduce manual effort and risk for error
  • Conduct ad hoc research and analysis for CFO and CEO to support a wide range of strategic projects
  • Assist with preparation of specific aspects of management discussion & analysis (MD&A) for financial reporting
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly board materials which will include outputs from analyses/projects you led
  • Play a critical role in evaluation and due diligence processes for add-on acquisitions
  • Partner closely with sales leadership and other departments who will rely on you as the company's data expert



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an analytical role, such as management consulting, investment banking, private equity, etc.
  • Extensive experience working with large datasets, modeling and conducting data analysis within Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with salesforce.com is a plus but can also be learned on the job
  • Experience with data visualization/BI tools such as Tableau and Einstein Analytics is helpful but can also be learned on the job
