Position overview

Teaching Strategies is looking for a highly talented, innovative and creative software engineers to join it's technology development team.  We're looking for engineers that want to make a real impact in early childhood education.  Our platform is a quickly evolving system so you need to be someone ready to take on challenging refactoring work, new technologies and automation, automation, automation.  You will work closely with the operations team to ensure that our platform is performing at optimal performance.

Specific roles and responsibilities:  

  • Design, develop and test features for Teaching Strategies' platforms and applications
  • Develop automation for testing and deploying code
  • Constantly looking to improve application performance through platform innovation
  • Analyzing, troubleshooting, and mitigating application issues and security vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate with operations engineers, test engineers and DBAs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in a production SaaS environment
  • Patience, rigor, and the ability to communicate clearly
  • Highly collaborative work style
  • Experience with JavaScript, ColdFusion, Python, Ruby, and/or Java
  • Keen interest in new technologies and languages and how to innovate with them
  • Understanding of design patterns and agile development
  • Experience with SQL is a plus
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Salt, Chef or Puppet) is a plus
  • Commitment to following security best practices
