Position overview:

The Professional Development Coordinator is a position for a highly motivated, organized, and professional individual with a strong commitment to quality of work and passion for exceeding customer expectations. This person is responsible for coordinating Professional Development training programs across the country that help educators successfully implement Teaching Strategies solutions and further their expertise with early childhood education.    

Professional Development training is an important component of our business that requires managing high volumes of training scheduling during peak months, as well as consistent training programs throughout the year.  The Professional Development Coordinator is responsible for  matching client needs such as specific training objectives, locations, and date to the appropriate trainer and ensuring all aspects of scheduling and delivery of the training are planned and executed flawlessly. 

The Professional Development Coordinator collaborates with Customers and Account owners to ensure successful delivery of the training.   

Specific roles and responsibilities:

  • Assists Teaching Strategies' Customer Accounts teams and customers through scheduling and completion of professional development plans that meet their needs and support successful solution implementation of Teaching Strategies solutions and teacher development
  • Participates in the various and detailed steps of the PD scheduling and planning process
  • Utilizes Salesforce to track information related to PD opportunities and maintains all related communication and reporting in Salesforce 
  • Maintains proactive and consistent contact with customers and account owners to ensure all PD opportunities are fulfilled in a timely manner
  • Assists with the coordination of Professional Development training logistics
  • Other responsibilities as needed to further the success of the Professional Development Team

Qualifications:

  • B.A or B.S. - 4 year college degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of customer facing work experience with track record of success and proven customer service orientation
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels within a customer organization 
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Poised and organized with attention to detail
  • Effective problem solver and critical thinker
  • Commitment to follow up and follow through
  • Experience with Salesforce.com is highly desired
  • Ability to work a schedule to accommodate assigned tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and to operate effectively in a highly dynamic environment and maintain calm under pressure
  • Ability to learn new technology applications
  • Experience with early childhood education or K-12 education a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
